Our humane bee relocation services offer an effective way to get bees out of your home.
At Best Bee Removal in Florida, we have encountered a wide variety of attitudes toward bees in our time. Some people are utterly terrified of them, while others are more relaxed, and still others (like us) love them. However, we have also found that even those who are scared of bees still understand and respect the important role these insects play in the ecosystem. Bees are essential pollinators—without bees to spread pollen from flower to flower, many plants, including crop plants we all depend on, would not be able to reproduce. (This is true of all bee species, not just honeybees.) Because of the essential role bees play in the natural environment, our team chooses to humanely relocate bee colonies whenever possible.
Although our team is passionate about bees, we also completely understand and sympathize with your desire to not have them in your home. If you are dealing with a bee infestation, we encourage you to give us a call to have our experts take care of the problem for you. Whenever possible, we will avoid using pesticides, but instead will use humane bee relocation methods to capture the bees and take them to a more appropriate home.
When you call our team for humane bee relocation services, we will first come to your property to assess the situation. We’ll inspect the infested area and examine the bees for disease or other signs of poor health. Next, our team—wearing full-body protective gear—will take steps to calm the bees. For example, we will use smoke to make the bees drowsy, which will make them less likely to sting when we handle them. Our experts will then search for the queen bee and capture her in a specialized cage. Once we have successfully identified and captured the queen, we’ll move her into a new hive. The rest of the colony will follow her scent, gradually leaving their old hive to join her in the new one.
As we wait for the bees to relocate themselves into the new hive, our team will also remove the comb from the existing hive and move it into the new one with the rest of the colony. This is important for two reasons—first, we don’t want to leave the comb in your home, as the honey is likely to attract more insects; and second, the bees will need the stored honey in order to survive and keep the colony healthy. Our team will thoroughly clean out the area to make sure no traces of the infestation remain in your home, and once we have removed all the bees and their combs, we will take the new hive and deliver the colony to a local apiary.
